ABSTRACT

The following is a collection of squiggles. Why are you still reading?

Note the increased degree of complexity and form. One might identify this collection as a “particular” set of squiggles, as opposed to the previous collection of “arbitrary” squiggles.

One might even be so bold as to assert this particular collection of squiggles to be correspondent a proper “concept”, and apply a label to this particular concept. One need not define the concept in great detail, other than to confidently assert that it is indeed a concept, and that this particular collection of squiggles resonates with that particular concept. One may temporarily apply the label “alfabet” to this particular concept for no reason at all.


The following is a collection of squiggles:

This sentence, and every sentence, and every representation of every conceivable knowledge model of value, is a collection of squiggles.

If one were to demonstrate the following collection of squiggles, one could argue with near certainty that the “reader” can “distinguish” the “squiggles” and “identify” a “particular” “squiggle” as “corresponding” to 1 of 2 “labels”, ‘symbol’ or ‘object’:

How does the reader know this? There are no rules.

There are several collections of squiggles.  Some squiggles are next to other squiggles, “juxtaposed” so as to demonstrate some notion of value or correspondence. But there is currently no clearly defined game or task to approach.

This is all a large collection of squiggles.

There are no rules.

Which one is the symbol, and which one is the object?

How do you know this?


Perhaps because these collections of squiggles have intrinsic meaning relative to your subjective experiences.

Perhaps because these collections of squiggles are recognizable and distinguishable.

But what do they point to? Meaning. What’s the meaning of “meaning”?

Perhaps there are observable notions such as “distance” between discrete individual “squiggles”, and some squiggles are closer together than others. There are observable patterns to the positions of the squiggles. Why are some close together and others are not? Why are some squiggles (and some notions) more “meaningful” than others?

Perhaps because the squiggles appear to be that way and no other particular way.

Perhaps because a person squiggled those squiggles with a goal in mind. Why did they pursue that goal? Perhaps because it was meaningful to them.

The following is a collection of squiggles:

Everything is a thing. except the Thing



This list would be a metamodel, if only someone drew a rectangle around it.
